Conditions that exclude collaboration:

  • Type 1 diabetes – we can offer a low GI diet, but we do not provide carbohydrate exchanges. If you can calculate exchanges and adjust insulin doses, we welcome collaboration.
  • Active eating disorders (unless you are under the care of a psychologist – we do not handle psychodietetics in person). At Respo, we provide online dietary and psychodietetic advice. In the case of active eating disorders, such as bulimia or anorexia, in-person help from a psychodietitian is necessary. We believe this form of therapy can provide comprehensive care and appropriate support on the road to health.
  • Kidney diseases (including glomerulonephritis) – in such cases, the diet should be low in protein. Respo specialises in diets for healthy individuals and those with specific nutritional needs. In cases of acute and chronic kidney disease, we recommend consulting a dietitian specialising in care for patients with such conditions. Only a specialist can tailor the diet to individual needs and ensure safe and effective dietary care.
  • People who are on the road for a week and home for two days – the Respo diet requires consistency and regular meal consumption.
  • Crohn's disease (only in the acute phase!) – we would suggest a light diet. Unfortunately, we do not currently prepare such a diet at Respo. After reducing medication doses, as symptoms subside, you can gradually expand the meal plan. Then we invite you to work with Respo.
  • Unhealthy diets, e.g. ketogenic, low-carbohydrate
  • SIBO/IMO + hypoglycaemia + hyperprolactinaemia
  • Fructose intolerance (fructosemia) – this diet has too many exclusions for us to collaborate.
  • Bariatric surgeries – we can assist such patients in preparing for surgery and when they return to consuming larger portions, e.g. 2 sandwiches and 50g of rice. However, we cannot help in the first months post-surgery, when a significantly reduced meal volume diet is required. It depends on the patient. Post-bariatric surgery patients require specialised dietary care tailored to their individual needs. Nutritional recommendations after such surgery are very specific and require strict control. Therefore, we recommend consultations with a dietitian specialising in post-bariatric surgery care.
  • Antihistamine diet – too many exclusions
  • Gastritis – generally a light diet
  • Malabsorption syndrome
  • Diets after gallbladder removal (we can collaborate 3–4 weeks post-surgery)
  • Colon cancer – it is important to adjust the diet to the stoma. In-person collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, including a dietitian, doctor, and pharmacist, is necessary.
  • Acute pancreatitis – light diet, low in fats
  • Gastroesophageal reflux + Barrett's oesophagus + oesophageal erosion + gastritis and duodenitis
  • Nickel allergy – too many exclusions
  • Myasthenia, e.g. ocular myasthenia – variability in meal delivery, e.g. nutritional drinks
  • Necrotising pancreatitis – due to a multi-stage diet, including a light stage
  • Low-phosphorus diet
  • Ulcerative colitis – during flare-ups or at the onset of the disease – light diet
  • Glycogen storage disease (all types)
  • Cancers during chemo or radiotherapy – chemotherapy can cause symptoms related to appetite loss. This clinical situation requires specialist support in a nutritional clinic in person and requires close collaboration between the dietitian and the attending physician.
  • Phenylketonuria – too many exclusions
  • Ulcerative colitis – during flare-ups. Currently, we would suggest a light diet. Unfortunately, we do not prepare such a diet at Respo. After reducing medication doses, as symptoms subside, you can gradually expand the meal plan. Then we invite you to work with Respo.
  • Professional athletes – We do not specialise in diets for professional athletes
  • Wilson's disease
